Tigertek Genji RDA Preview | Another “screwless” success?

Tigertek Genji RDA Intro

Tigertek made a splash earlier this year with the much-talked release of their pioneering, Springer X RDA.

And as one of the first manufacturers to implement a screwless build deck design, they inadvertently set a new standard for others to follow.

The Genji RDA is their latest model to reach the stores. We couldn’t wait to take a closer look at what they came up with this time.

Springing into the future

Rebuildable dripping atomizers have always been considered an “advanced vaping platform”. And for many advanced vapers, the “rebuildable” element provides a hobbyist-like angle that offers its own inherent fulfillment.

But for many other new users and non-builders alike, the RDA remains a complex, confusing and alien unit that is best ignored altogether. Screwless build decks are the industry’s answer to this problem; offering a simple, user-friendly construction that vapers of all skill levels can easily navigate.

The Genji enters this niche RDA category, incorporating a four post, screwless deck design. The deck is slightly elevated off of the 24mm diameter base, with large airflow inlets located on either side. Airflow is then channeled up and around the installed coils from below, entering the upper chamber through four large circular holes placed in the center of the build deck.

The Genji RDA’s unique interpretation of the screwless build deck could be the “next big thing”.

This interesting deck is paired with a very simple top cap and wide bore drip tip combo. The top cap fits over the build deck, concealing the deck as well as the raised edge, thereby offering full airflow adjustment. This clever configuration should limit the likelihood of leaks without affecting the airflow in any way, which is a major plus!

The screwless, gold plated posts utilize an effortless, spring activated system; allowing coils to be secured into place without the use of tools. Plus, with these posts now angled at 30 degrees, it looks like the coil placement will be easier than ever before.

Although you will still unfortunately have to learn the art of coil building in your own time, RDA’s like this one could help convert non-builders if they perform as promised. But whether the Genji can meet the standard we expect or not, I am still excited to see how it holds up in practice.
