Space Jam expands c-store sales [Take our poll]

Convenience stores in four western states have agreed to sell Space Jam e-liquid and other products from the Southern California vape company

Space Jam Juice LLC, based in San Clemente, is one of the largest independent e-liquid makers in the country. According to CSP magazine, Space Jam could be for sale in as many as 10,000 c-stores by the end of 2017.

The current agreements are with Circle K Arizona, Circle K West (California, Oregon, and Washington locations), 7-Eleven, Giant, and G&M stores.

According to Space Jam, recent declines in c-store sales of e-liquid and other open-system vaping products is due to the lack of recognizable brands being offered in general sales channels. Space Jam is one of the best known names among premium juice manufacturers.

“Prior attempts to add vape products to convenience-store shelves failed because those previous products did not have the customer base and following that Space Jam has built over the last five years in the vape and tobacco channel,” Dylan Spencer, executive vice president of marketing for Space Jam, told CSP.

Spencer told the c-store industry publication that convenience stores are losing revenue to vape shops. “The vape-store consumer frequents convenience stores two to three times a week,” Spencer said, “but heads to the nearest vape shop for vaping needs.”
