Perl vape preview | A compact and unique kit

Perl intro

Introducing the Perl. An elegant and compact pod mod. It’s refillable and it has a few useful electronic features not seen in many devices of this type. Operating on an 1150 mAh battery, the Perl should be able to give a full day of vaping. And it only weighs 60 grams. That’s just the weight of two JUULs. I guess a heavy “perl” wouldn’t make much sense.

Kit: $69.00
2/pk pods: $15.99
Colors: Black (with silver trim), White (with gold trim)

Vaping can be stylish

Perl-pod-mod-system

Lately I’ve seen a few new companies popping up with really interesting-looking pod systems. Perl vape is one of them. But it’s not all about looks though. The Perl has some cool features too. Like a touch-sensor to toggle between three power levels: mellow, mild or intense. That’s useful for a pod device because it adds to its customizability. To select the desired experience, just tap the Perl logo. Tap the logo twice and you see your battery level, a feature made popular by the JUUL.

Like many pod vapes, the Perl is draw activated. Just puff on it like a regular cigarette when you want a hit. First fill the 2 mL ceramic-coil pods with your favorite e-liquids and vape when you want. Let’s just hope the refill system is clean and simple.

The ceramic heating element supposedly provides 15 refills before the flavor drops off. Man, if only they had these types of devices when I first started vaping. My old devices would drop off in flavor after the first hit!

Reading from the Perl Vape site, the draw is set up for mouth to lung vaping but is capable of a restricted lung hit. I guess its somewhere in between MTL and DL like a Kandypens Rubi or Aspire Gusto.

An intelligent refillable pod mod designed to fit perfectly in your hand

The downside to many of these types of devices is the battery life. Not the Perl. This thing packs a 1150 mAh battery capacity! According to the press release, it takes about an hour to charge and provides over 12 hours of non-stop usage. It also has a standby time of 90 days, but I’m not sure why you would go that long without vaping it.

Finally, let’s talk about that body. The Perl has a slight s-curved ergonomic shape that looks comfortable to hold. As a vape device, it reminds me of the Joyetech Atopac Dolphin but less gimmicky. I think it looks good. Though, it doesn’t look like it can stand upright. That’s not a big deal, but it’s something to note.

I’m very much looking forward to testing out the Perl and reporting back soon. So far it looks great on paper, but I can’t speak to the experience until I try it. How do you feel about the design of the Perl? Are you gonna check it out or is it just another pod device?
