IJOY just released a stunning-looking new kit. The IJOY Diamond PD270 is a center-mounted 510 mod for use with dual-20700 batteries or dual-18650s and a silicone adapter. The Diamond is marketed for up to 234 watts, which is par for the course with these specs. Although it’s sexy, it’s a rather tall mod at 92 mm x 49 mm x 34.5 mm.
The Diamond PD270 Kit comes with the IJOY Captain X3S Subohm Tank — a shortened version of the Captain X3 tank. Powered by the IWEPAL chip, the safe bet is that the Diamond mod will function just like the Captain and Genie Mods, but with much more style. It comes in myriad colors with matchy-matchy tanks to boot.

Lookin' good so far...
The Diamond looks smooth and shiny and stays loyal to its name. The mod looks a like a direct competitor to the Revenger from Vaporesso. The Diamond is a tiny bit bigger than the Revenger and is billed as capable of pumping out 234 watts. Maybe it really can! After all, it fits dual 20700 batteries. We shall see. Interestingly, IJOY does not mention the usual option of buying the kit with a couple of their own 20700s included but I am pretty sure that the option will still be available.
The Diamond mod can fit any tank up to 33.5 mm with no overhang, which practically means any tank — even the Modfather! As a personal note, I am happy to see that IJOY decided not to add the flashy LEDs they experimented with in the past. The Diamond looks quite photogenic with no need for theatrics!
The kit includes what appears to be a shorter Captain X3 sub-ohm tank minus the bubble glass. The 25 mm Captain X3S has a 4.2 mL capacity and uses the same coils as its bigger brother. IJOY also fills the void between the X3-C1 and the X3-C3 by releasing the X3-C2 coil head. The new coil head, which comes pre-installed in the tank, reads at 0.3-ohm and can be fired between 60-100 watts. Based on the press release, it appears that IJOY ditched the Cobra resin tips of the X3 for the delrin 810 tips that they used on previous Captain tanks. But other images (and in the video) also show the X3S with the Cobra — chances are that it does not come with Cobra tips. The resin tips looked cool but were notorious for breaking on the first drop, so although I will miss the funky colors of the cobras, longevity is always a plus in my book.
The mod-tank combo comes in 12 color configurations, with the all-black arguably being the sexiest of the bunch. That said, I am not a fan of the yellow logo on the back.
