The Batpack with Joye ECO D16 is the latest starter kit from Joyetech. What is special about the Batpack is that it can be powered by regular or rechargeable AA batteries. Yes, the ones you have been using long before you even heard of 18650‘s – or vaping, for that matter.
The kit comes in six matching color configurations and with the option of a couple of Avatar AA Ni-MH 2000 mAh rechargeable batteries included in the box.

It’s all about the AA's
The Joyetech Batpack kit is a colorful, lightweight and pocket-sized starter kit. But its most interesting feature is its compatibility with normal AA batteries as well as rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries. While AAs are much less powerful than 18650s, they are very easily accessible and cost a lot less. According to Joyetech, a couple of normal AA batteries will last for around 150 puffs, while Ni-MH AAs will give you approximately 800 puffs. Most chargers support AA sized batteries so rechargeable Ni-MH AA’s seem like the way to go with the Batpack. But you can always visit a local shop and get some normal AAs in emergency situations — or even pop a couple off your TV’s remote control!
The Batpack adopts Joyetech’s ECO technology and has 1.85 V constant output. The ECO D16 is a slightly modified version of the tank that came with the eGo AIO ECO and uses the same 0.5-ohm BFHN coil. Joyetech is adamant that the Batpack can only be used with the ECO D16 tank, and vice versa. In fact, a normal atty probably wouldn’t get enough power from the Batpack’s meager output. So in many ways this can be considered an AIO instead of a kit.
